
Mike entered the financial services industry in 1979 and co-founded Virginia Asset Management in 1986.
Mike specializes in financial, estate* and investment planning for individuals and for owners of closely held businesses. Mike is a Richmond native and a proud graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Administration.
Mike is a past President of the International General Agents and Managers Association (GAMA), an organization with a membership consisting of leaders of independent financial services firms from all over the world. Mike is also a past president of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), and a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT).
He has spoken to many audiences across the country and abroad about various financial services and other related topics including the firm’s training and mentoring program. This program has received international acclaim and remains an integral part of the firm’s success with helping new advisors into the industry.
Mike has served on the boards of numerous local charities and foundations. He and the firm are active supporters of many charitable organizations in their fundraising efforts.
He is the proud father of three children, Victoria, Kristine, and Robbie. He enjoys spending time on the lake or at the farm with his children, their spouses, and grandchildren.
