Life Insurance Services Specialist Job Posting

Job Description: The Insurance Services Specialist is responsible for providing dedicated business support to the firm’s financial advisors and their teams. This includes providing new business, insurance case management, and ongoing support for disability insurance, life insurance and long-term care insurance.


New Business Support for Insurance: 

  • Submit new applications and service requests to appropriate carriers
  • Ongoing follow up and tracking of business submitted
  • Update financial advisors on outstanding requirements and case statuses
  • Resolves issues during the new business process, including processing, licensing, and carrier issues
  • Manage medical records processes and other requirements according to underwriting guidelines
  • Submit premium payments/requirements to carriers
  • Image and organize all applicable paperwork into document retention system
  • Process underwriting and non-underwriting policy changes
  • Ensure policy delivery requirements are completed
  • Coordinate firm and advisor licensing and appointments

Client Service:

  • Assist financial advisors with risk-based product assistance
  • Facilitate obtaining in-force illustrations
  • Assist with and process client service requests
  • Maintain client notes and correspondence in CRM

Firm Responsibilities:

  • Provides scheduled receptionist coverage
  • Supports outgoing mail processing
  • Distribute reports on a regular basis
  • Provides back-up support to other teams as necessary
  • Performs other activities as directed


  • College degree
  • Ability to pass a criminal history and credit background check
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial services or insurance firm; Underwriting experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, Office 365)
