Chris Ellis CFP®
Chris graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Business Management. He served as an orientation leader and was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi professional business fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and the designated driving service organization, SafeRides. Subsequently, while living and working in Northern Virginia, he earned his MBA in Entrepreneurship from George Mason University.
Before joining Virginia Asset Management, Chris spent time consulting for small businesses, helped develop leaders and teams through organizational behavior and management strategies, and led a marketing team for a government contractor in Northern Virginia. Chris comes from a long line of teachers, and through financial services, has continued that passion for helping and educating others.
Chris is a Certified Financial Planner™ Practitioner and focuses his practice on helping businesses and individuals by specializing in the areas of comprehensive financial planning, business succession planning, retirement planning, 401(k) planning, and investment advisory services.
In his free time, Chris serves as a co-president of the Richmond James Madison University Alumni chapter (RVA Dukes). He can be found running the trails of Richmond, golfing, finding new restaurants or cheering on his favorite sports teams: Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins, JMU Dukes, DC United, and the Tottenham Hotspur (football across the pond).
