Michael M. Sanson graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1987 with a degree in Business Administration and Management. He has worked in the financial services industry since 1984 and joined Virginia Asset Management as an associate in 1988. Mike successfully completed the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) course of study in 1992, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) in 1993, and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in 1996. He is also an investment advisor representative with Securian Financial Services, Inc. Mike is a member of the Richmond and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (RAIFA and NAIFA), and is a past and current recipient of their National Quality award. He is also a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals and qualifies for the Professional Achievement in Continuing Education (PACE) program. Mike is an adjunct faculty member of Virginia Commonwealth University, and additionally has led numerous retirement and investment planning seminars for the faculty and staff of Virginia Commonwealth University and the Medical College of Virginia, as well as government agencies, professional associations, and corporations. He has lived in Richmond since 1981, and currently resides in the Fan District with his wife, Valerie. In their free time, Mike & Valerie enjoy running, cycling, swimming, skiing and travel.
