Michael R. White, a Richmond native, is an equity partner of Virginia Asset Management, LLC and serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer. Mike entered the financial services industry in 1979 and co-founded Virginia Asset Management in 1986, which was later recognized by the Richmond Chamber of Commerce as one of the 25 fastest growing companies in the metropolitan area. Mike specializes in financial, estate and investment planning for professional athletes as well as for owners of closely held businesses. He is co-founder of Premier Resource Group, a national resource group that provides assistance and resources to some of the top financial planners in the country. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Administration, Mike also earned the Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant designations from the American College. He is a Securities Principal as well as an Investment Advisor Representative with Securian Financial Services, Inc. Mike was the 2003-2004 President of GAMA International. He is also a member of the National Association of Insurance Financial Advisors and former president of the Richmond Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and a life member of MDRT. He is a former member of the Board of Directors with the local CLU chapter and a member and past president of the Richmond General Agents and Managers Association (GAMA). In addition, Mike is a founding board member of the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Mike has spoken across the country on numerous occasions about various financial services and other related topics, including the training/mentoring program, which he implemented at Virginia Asset Management in 1986. This program has also received international acclaim and remains an integral part of Virginia Asset Management's success. Mike has also spoken in various countries including Scotland, Italy, France, Canada, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing. Mike is a board member of the John Tyler Community College Foundation. Mike was inducted into the GAMA International “Hall of Fame” in 2009 given once per year to leaders of independent financial services firms for successful firm development, Industry involvement and community involvement. Mike is active in multiple youth sports leagues, as well as co-hosting an annual golf outing to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation. Mike is married to Lynn, with 3 children, Victoria, Kristine and Robbie.
