Michael graduated from Hampden Sydney College in 1990, with a B.A. in Political Science and Liberal Arts, and from Medical College of Virginia in 1995, with a Masters Degree in Health Administration. He earned the Chartered Life Underwriter and the Chartered Financial Consultant designations from the American College. Michael is also certified in Long Term Care.

Prior to joining Virginia Asset Management, Michael served as an Assistant Vice President at Southside Regional Medical Center and as the Executive Director of the Community Memorial Healthcenter Physician-Hospital Organization, LLC. Michael entered the financial services business in July 1999. He is a licensed life and health insurance agent, as well as an investment advisor representative with Securian Financial Services, Inc. Michael is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.

Michael lives in South Hill with his wife, Lisa, and four children, Christopher, Elizabeth, Hannah and Carson. He spends his “spare” time coaching and attending various youth sports and activities.
