Crystal Huddleston is the Director of Professional Development at Virginia Asset Management. She is responsible for all aspects of recruiting, training, and developing financial advisors. Crystal loves talking to people about career opportunities in financial services and sharing her passion for the industry. Crystal joined Virginia Asset Management in 1994 after serving as Employment Manager for 13 years with a large Richmond area retail operation consisting of fifteen stores and over 1200 employees. An alumna of the University of Richmond, Crystal focused on Human Resource Management and minored in Business. She also studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark. She has received the Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) designation from the Life Office Management Association (LOMA). Crystal is an active member of the General Agents and Managers Association (GAMA), graduating from their prestigious Essentials of Management Development program. She received the Career Development Award from GAMA International each year since 2001. This award is based on the successful development of new financial advisors. Crystal recently completed her term as president of the Agency Management Resource Group (AMRG), a peer group affiliated with Securian Financial Network, a nationwide network of financial services firms. In addition, she has memberships in the Society of Financial Services Professionals (SFSP), the Richmond and National Chapters of the Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (RAIFA and NAIFA). Crystal is a member and advocate of the Women’s Interactive Sales Exchange (WISE), which provides female financial advisors within the Securian Financial network with opportunities to grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking and recognition. Crystal has hosted two national webcasts to share the WISE program with firms across the country. Crystal is Insurance Licensed and a registered representative of Securian Financial Services, Inc. Crystal loves to travel and visit with family. She also enjoys cooking, wine tasting, reading, snow skiing and running.
